Lithuanian FM off to Iran to discuss bilateral ties

Tehran, May 27, IFIF public relations quoted from IRNA – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius has left Vilnius Friday for Tehran on Friday to discuss economic, trade, and cultural cooperation, the European country's foreign ministry announce.
Lithuania's foreign minister will lead a high-ranking delegation during his three-day visit to Iran.
Linkevicius is scheduled to meet his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia, Science, Research and Technology Minister Mohammad Farhadi, Communications and Information Technology Minister Mahmoud Vaezi and Chairman of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Mohsen Jalalpour.
Also on the agenda of the three-day visit are meetings with ministers for energy and agriculture and parliamentary leaders, and a Lithuanian business seminar organized jointly with Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.
The foreign minister is being accompanied by Deputy Energy Minister Aleksandras Spruogis and a business delegation led by Rimantas Sidlauskas, head of the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
Linkevicius and other members of the delegation will discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, particularly economic, trade, and cultural, and will present Lithuania's business and export potential.
An economic cooperation agreement and a memorandum of understanding between the Foreign Ministries will be signed.
The two countries established diplomatic relations back in 1993.
